Overview

  1. Designs and builds system integrations that allow different platforms to communicate effectively. Creates reports and dashboards that translate data into actionable insights.  Troubleshoots software issues as they arise. Oversees the testing and deployment of patches, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring updates are delivered with minimal disruption to operations.
  2. Contributes to disaster recovery and business continuity planning, preparing systems for quick restoration in the event of an outage.
  3. Stays up to date with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and cybersecurity risks, ensuring that applications remain both effective and secure.
  4. Serves as Project Manager and implements, upgrades, and/or modernizes business applications, systems and platforms.  Partners with stakeholders to understand business needs, gathers and documents requirements, and translates them into project scope and deliverables. Develops detailed project plans, oversees system configuration and testing, and coordinates user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet expectations.
  5. Trains users, creates documentation, and ensures smooth adoption of new tools.
  6. Recommends strategies for cloud migration, SaaS adoption, and platform modernization.
  7. Provides technical expertise and assistance to management and users.  Evaluates current applications, researches new technologies, and recommends solutions that impact the long-term efficiency and effectiveness of business systems. Provides higher-level support to users, assists with complex troubleshooting and serves as a liaison between business teams, IT staff, and external vendors.
  8. May be required to answer calls after hours and/or return to the site to assist with outages, troubleshooting or to provide employee support.
  9. Must perform all responsibilities for environment, safety and health as defined in Procedure 1-3100 and adhere to the principles and functions of Integrated Safety Management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities & Other Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience.
  1. Relevant professional certification (e.g.  CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate, AWS Certified Developer Associate, or equivalent).
  2. Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in application development, systems analysis, and/or software support.
  3. Demonstrated experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile practices.
  4. Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and familiarity with relational databases
  1. Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance.

Interview Process and Length:
The interview process will last approximately 1.5 hours and consists of the following:
1. Panel interview - 45 minutes
2. Practical exercise – 45 minutes
 
Selection and Notification:
