Overview

1. Performs maintenance, fabrication, and repair of equipment and materials. Performs one or more of following: carpentry, welding, painting, and maintenance and repair of broad range of electromechanical assemblies.
2. Performs maintenance and repair of motorized or mechanical equipment including fleet vehicles (diesel and gasoline), lawn servicing equipment, watercraft, generators, trailers, small engines, forklifts, and utility tractors using a wide range of skills.
3. Installs or removes security cages, gun locks, spotlights, fire extinguishers, and other items on security vehicles.
4. Fabricates items constructed of wood, metals, or plastics, such as training aids for firearms ranges and areas and bullet containment devices.
5. Moves equipment and security or administrative related supplies to and from other site facilities and staging areas. Operates tow truck. Sets up equipment for operation in remote locations.
6. Completes required maintenance related documentation, data entry, and inventory accountability of items such as repair parts, supplies, vehicle keys, fuel cards and credit cards.
7. Must perform all responsibilities for environment, safety and health as defined in Procedure 1-3100 and adhere to the principles and functions of Integrated Safety Management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities & Other Requirements

1. Reading, writing, and basic math skills and additional technical training.
2. Three years of experience performing automotive repair (diesel and gasoline).
3. Experience in automobile air conditioning, diagnostics and repairs.
4. Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Class A Driver’s License.
5. Must be able to obtain/maintain DOE “L” security clearance.

Interview Process and Length

   The interview process will consist of a panel interview and last approximately 45 minutes.

 

Selection and Notification

Internal applicants who are not selected for an interview will be notified in writing.  Candidates who are selected for an interview will be notified of the final disposition.  Candidates who interview must score 70 or higher on the interview/assessment process to be considered.
